goop sent out a gift guide a couple of weeks ago. Of course, I took this as an opportunity to put together a guide of my own. Meaning a guide to assist my husband. As clear in the subject of an email he received and should keep handy: "list for any occasion that demands a gift."

I was thoughtful with the list because it includes items I have wanted but simply forgot how *crucial* they were to my happiness. This holiday season will lay the foundation to the happiest 2015 possible thanks to, finally, owning the good stuff. Perhaps I should not be so confident. Jury is out as to whether I was naughty or nice.

Longchamp chocolate suitcase

Tina Frey Ice Bucket
You know the moment while prepping for a  party that you must empty the fridge to stock it with bottles or fill a cooler better suited for a tailgate or pull out a sterling ice bucket that is neither stylish nor functional? Me, too, and no more thanks to this great white beauty.

Longchamp Le Pliage Chocolate
Years ago I bought a Longchamp Travel Bag, which I took to both my boys' births and to this day on trips less that 36 hours. The magic of this piece is that it is brown. The best brown to accent the brand's signature leather. It is time to round out the collection with a travel tote and expandable duffel. The briefcase would be on the list, too, if they still offered it in chocolate. Just LOVE!

Pursen for goop Travel Jewelry Case
I am momentarily suspending my emphasis on style over function to embrace the satisfaction of organization.  I did some digging and these really are kind of the best in this category. Shocking to no one, I did manage to better it though when my momentary lapse ended...

Anya Hindmarch Bespoke Traveling Jewel Case
I just want a beautiful case befitting my treasures. Is that so wrong? While I was on the site, I found this for Valentine's Day. (He loves me. He loves me not...)

Josef Albers Interaction of Color New Complete Edition
When we first traveled in our 20s, my husband and I visited a couple of museums featuring Albers' work. I went on to study his theories/plates in grad school so it's only fitting that the beautiful double hard cover set be under the tree and in my design library.
UPDATE: Found this item in My Orders on Amazon. hohoho!
