INTERIORS

My creativity has always driven my education, career, and pursuits. Requisite bio: University of Virginia Architecture School; working at a top-three San Francisco interiors firm; and graduate school at Parsons. In 2004, I set up APA & Co. as an interior design services firm in Seattle, WA.

& GOODS

In 2011, I was tapped to develop a brand and sales strategy for a collection of antiques that filled a warehouse the size of a city block in Seattle. The parent company, Lawrence & Scott, is a well-known high-end lighting company in North America's finest design center showrooms. The founder of the firm procured the unique assortment of treasures on her travels across the Far East in the mid-20th century.

The historical motifs I studied at Parsons influenced my first product line kaarskoker, a collection of decorative candle sleeves and customizable candlesticks. Featured in House Beautiful, Real Simple, British Homes & Gardens, and Traditional Home and retailed with Nordstrom, Amazon, and The Home Depot, I sold the company in 2013. Taking kaarskoker from an idea through acquisition inspired a new way of creating and working.
